Review : Kinerase

I have weird combination skin - oil slick on the forehead, nose and chin; Sahara Desert on my cheeks. So I was excited and delighted to try Kinerase's Ultimate Day Moisturizer and Ultimate Night Moisturizer.

According to the site, both of these products are "ideal for more mature consumers with dry skin". I'm not a mature consumer, I just have a couple of stubborn dry patches. If that describes you too, I suggest you give these creams a try (and they are creams, not lotions). The Ultimate Day Moisturizer (pictured on the right) is "specifically formulated with sun-light activated technology and contains the highest concentration of kinetin to improve skin texture and the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles."

All I know is that it was uber moisturizing and went on without feeling greasy or making my face look shiny. The scent was also very light. I've only used it on my cheeks since Saturday and can already tell the difference when I wash my face - no more tightness on my cheeks after washing, they don't get shiny later in the day, and the skin there looks brighter and smoother.

I've been using it in conjunction with the Ultimate Night Moisturizer which "creates an 8-hour moisture reservoir for overnight skin rejuvenation and rehydration". You're telling me. After five days I can tell the difference. I didn't use this on my whole face either, just my cheeks. The cream is very thick, a dab will do ya.

If you've clicked the links you'll notice that both of these products retail at Kinerase.com for $125 a tube. Yes, you read that correctly. This is the most expensive facial product I've ever used, but the results are spectacular after only five days. This is one of those instances of getting what you pay for.

I tried some of this "stuff" out too. It truly is amazing. It leaves the skin looking as smooth as porcelain. Worth the price? I almost think so (biting on nails).
